16 months

I'm a little late on this post, but that is what happens when you are out of town for three weeks and don't work...its easy to lose track of time. I usually have a hard time remembering what day of the week it is, let alone the actual date.

What can I say to sum up 16 months?

Challenging.

It is definitely challenging at times. Liv has a mind of her own and when you stop her when she's on a path of destruction, it usually ends up with a huge tantrum. For example, today at Pier 1. I know why they don't have carts in that store. Because its not kid friendly and they don't want you to bring your child in. I totally agree after today. It was a nightmare. Try to avoid Pier 1 with a toddler, trust me.

Back to 16 months. Another word that I can use to describe it?

Fun.

Its oh so much fun. I love when Liv tries to mimic me and I love hearing her little voice say her first little words. Its to die for. I wouldn't say she has an all star vocab. right now, but in the past couple of weeks she has really became more interested in repeating what we say.

Her favorite new word is Peas "please". She knows the context in which to use this word and will say repeatedly like a maniac if you don't hand it over. Its hard to explain to a 16 month old that "you can only ask nicely for things that are ok for you to have...and no this christmas tree decoration is not ok for you to have". I try, boy do I try...its pretty useless though.

I lose my patience...a lot. I am working on it. I get easily overwhelmed and I'm trying to work on that too. Like right now, I'm drinking some wine...working on it.

I am an impatient person and Liv is very challenging, but I love her. Tonight she sat on my lap and I sang her all the christmas songs I knew. She ate it up. She thought mama was the best singer and she swung her head side to side, sang along, giggled, and clapped for me. When we were finished with each song I also got a hug. How cute is that? She's awesome at interacting. She melts hearts everywhere she goes.

Lets not forget though...she is a beast, but she's my beast.
me: "liv go stand on the wall" haha, she knew where the wall was

look at those little pointed toes

me: "liv, say cheese whizzzz", liv: "teeeeessseee"

  1. She is such a sweetie pie! H is starting the tantrum stage. Sometimes I just have to think in my head "stay consistent, stay calm"

  5. Drinking wine is a great way to work on things :) And Arianna is starting to hate Target trips ::deep breaths:: hopefully this will pass. The thing is, she doesn't want to be in a cart...or on a lap..or confined to ANYTHING..anywhere. Haha.
