liv 1: mom 0

Well Liv wins round 1 of my two days of work. She woke up at 1am and 5am, after which she wouldn't fall back asleep so I was up at 5:30am. This is fine, but I do not know what to do about her sleep schedule. Its so frustrating and I feel like a monster in the morning when I have one more hour to sleep and my little gremlin won't cooperate! She has been waking up like this for awhile now. Up once in the middle of the night then up at the crack of dawn and absolutely will not fall back asleep. I can't remember the last time she slept through the night. I mean I guess I could chalk it up to teething? I have not felt any teeth trying to come through though. Is that a prerequisite for assuming your baby is teething? I also tried letting her 'cry it out' 2 nights ago when she woke up at 12:30am...it lasted about 10-15 minutes, if you count the time it took for me to run upstairs and prepare a bottle. If anybody has some advice it is welcomed! I've consumed more caffeine that a human should...so I am begging for help!!

  1. First of all I've been there and I know how hard it is. My daughter started sleeping through the night at 4 months and then promptly stopped. After 2 weeks of multiple night wakings my husband and I decided to let her cry it out. We capped the time at 30 minutes but never made it past 20. It was so difficult and definitely not for everyone so if you decide that that is something you don't want to pursue don't beat yourself up about it.

I'll be hoping for sleep for you. Thanks for following my blog. I'm going to become a follower of you too.

  2. Thank you for the advice :). It helps to know someone else has gone through the same thing. I gave her some more to eat tonight (she is a big girl 20+lbs ha), so maybe she really is hungry? If this doesn't work I'll have to try the cry it out because I will know for sure she isn't hungry.
