Weekend in Pictures

As you can see, we spent the weekend feeding our self a bottle, eating sophie, eating headbands, hanging out with our rolls out, smiling, sitting on our own, and playing! Great weekend :) Next weekend we'll be in Marquette and I can't wait! Mommy is going to be 25.

proof

I caught Liv rolling onto her back! The action starts around the 1:30 minute mark.

When I'm a Supermodel

Move over Gisele! I just stumbled upon these pictures on my mom's camera. I remember taking them because it looked like Liv was posing in a men's magazine. Maybe she has a future in modeling? Probably not if her squeezable little baby rolls are still present, but she's got the pose down nonetheless.

Home Sweet Home

We made it, barely, but we're here so thats all that matters. I don't even want to re-cap how our day went. It was an absolute nightmare...24 hours of a nightmare. So, I'll sum up the experience with some advice: Don't ever take your 20lb child through an airport in a baby bjorn. Bring a stroller. I feel like I've been hiking for two days. It was pure torture. We arrived in Detroit at 12am on tuesday, stayed the night at my aunt's house and then drove back to the Soo in the morning. 30 minutes after we arrived I had to bring Liv to her 4 month appointment. She was such a grouch. Dr. Mackie said "hello" to her and she started crying. She also got 3 shots again. I didn't think it was as bad as the first time, but still, they are no fun. Liv now weighs a whopping 20lbs and is 25 1/2 inches long. I can't remember the size of her noggin' and I didn't ask for percentages. I'm positive she's still sky high in the weight department and a little over average for height. She's a monster.

Liv is super cranky after our travels. I'm guessing its a combination of the time change and the vaccinations she got. She has rolled over twice now from her belly to her back, but with her attitude there was no way I was getting her to do any tricks today. Also, there is no way in hell she is rolling onto her belly...she hates it. So I spent the day with her cranky butt unpacking, doing laundry, and washing a gazillion bottles.

OH and I have good news. I've known for a few weeks and just forgot to update. I passed my thesis class...with an A!! Woohoo! So I now have my Masters in Administration...well not technically. I have to pay $50 to get a final audit and get my diploma. Isn't that depressing? I spent all that money for classes and have to pay another $50 just to prove I actually finished the program. This MSA does nothing for me at the moment seeing I can't look for jobs because Pat and I will be moving after the summer. The waiting game continues. Here are some pics of my monster.

Confessions, Coffee, and Falls

So I have a little confession to make. Liv and I have been extremely lazy on our trip. We usually wake up every day, if I don't work, around 8 or 9am. Well since we've been staying up a little later, we have also been sleeping until like 11 or 12! Ok yeah its a bit ridiculous. Anyways, its finally catching up with us and Liv just doesn't want to go to bed at her regular time. I decided I needed to change things this morning...so we woke up at 9am. I dragged my butt out of bed to enjoy some instant coffee (ya) and my little monkey this morning.

Side note: instant coffee. So its pretty popular over here...not sure why, but to be honest its not as bad as I thought it would be, but its not good either. Plus as of right now, we don't have any milk so I have to drink it black with sugar. Forget creamer and definitley don't dream of flavored creamer. It's milk. The coffee barista looked at me like I was crazy when I asked for cream. Instant coffee will have to do until I leave the house and pick up an Americano...because half of the coffee shops don't have regular coffee either :).

Ok now back to our morning...I spent it playing and taking pictures of Liv. I'll let the pictures do the talking.

Don't let the starbucks mug fool you

I posted this to show the mess that is Liv's head, blonde and brown with a black mohawk?

Screaming, just in case I wasn't listening to what she was saying

The pillow is there for a reason...that will soon be revealed.

How we started...sitting like a big girl.

Then she ended up like this

Five Months

I took Liv's five month pictures a few days ago when I had her in a new outfit...I didn't think she'd grow in 2 days ;). We are behind in our well baby visits and I still don't have her 4 month stats yet. She has her 4 month appointment on January 12th...the day after we get back home. I'm pretty positive she'll still be up there in both her weight and height categories, but I will post that information when I have it. Liv is currently napping at the same time Pat is having his "pre-game" nap. She becomes quite the cranky kid if she doesn't get a nap. That has stayed pretty much the same. I keep waiting for the day when she'll nap less, but it hasn't happened. I was asking my mom today if it's normal for a five month old to need a nap every 2 or 3 hours. Even if its a short one...its like she needs a little break.

I'm still feeding her food. I didn't make any food here, because Pat says I never do the easy thing, so I'm proving him wrong :). I have mashed up some bananas for her and she's been eating apples and pears mixed with rice cereal. I can confidently say now that she is understanding that she needs to open her mouth to get a good bite. However, its getting harder to feed her because she is so easily distracted. I will need to take a picture, but when I have her in the bumbo seat she turns around and reaches for anything and everything that is near her. She really needs a highchair, but I'm refusing to buy one until we settle in somewhere and I don't have to pack it up and travel with it.

Not much has changed in the sitting up or rolling over department. She can sit up but is not anywhere near sturdy and she still does not want to roll over. She has been moving at night and during naps to sleep on her side, but I guess I haven't enticed her enough to want to roll anywhere. I owe everyone a video and when I get home I'll be able to make a few to post. We have one more week here and I feel like its going to fly by. Pat is super busy this last week with two exams and two games so we are going to have to squeeze in as much time together as we can. Half way through right? Ok, here's the little monster.

Happy New Year

We rang in the new year at home with some friends here in Belfast. Well...sort of. They all left for the bar by midnight and Pat and I said Happy New Year to eachother and were in bed by 12:15. The night went smoothly. It was pretty laid back, I made some quesadillas and a few other people brought over some appetizer like foods. And of course I dressed Liv all up and I guess you can say it was a successful get together because I was having so much fun I forgot to take any pictures! I had a little mess to pick up this morning but I can't complain.

I don't consider myself a really sentimental person and have never really been into making New Year resolutions, but I have to say 2009 was a life changing year. And just to prove it, a picture of my little family above. Which by the way, was taken after one of Pat's game. Liv was wearing an adorable new outfit from Grandma Carolyn and I was sweating to death due to carrying around my huge child...notice my shiny face. Speaking of my huge child, she'll be five months tomorrow so I will be posting again!
Have a lazy and unproductive New Years Day!
