Exorcist Baby

EHH. Liv has been sleeping like crap. I took her to the doctor's office on Monday because we have been thinking she has an ear infection, but nothing came of it and the nurse practitioner that we saw said "she's perfect". Its good news, but it doesn't tell us why Liv has been acting a little off. Liv has been up to eat once in the middle of the night, which is unusual...but that isn't even the part that is driving me nuts. She wakes up one or two more times and I put her sucky in her mouth, but its still me waking up and I'm exhausted.

Liv has also been sounding a bit congested, so maybe thats it? The kicker to her nighttime routine happened last night. She woke up at 2:30ish and I went and grabbed a bottle, then she fed herself while I changed her diaper. When she finished I sat her up to see if she needed to burp and she was just leaning forward and then I heard this burp, and I knew what was coming. Thank god I had grabbed a burp cloth because she opened her mouth and out came, I'm not exaggerating, every last ounce that she had just drank. It was disgusting and went EVERYWHERE. If I could describe the furrowed little look she had on her brow while she was puking all over her mom, I would...but its better left up to your imagination. I gagged. That's how bad and how much there was. Of course the minute she was done she was squeeling like it was the most fun she's had in her life. Needless to say, it was a rough night, but I'm trying to be optimistic here so on with the pictures!

Check out that little ponytail!

Bath Time!!

"rubber ducky you're the one..."

Playing with her favorite Christmas toy

Same toy...doesn't she look like such a big girl sitting up and playing?!

  1. Oh, I am sorry you had such a tough night Des. That doesn't sound like fun at all, hopefully you come to some conclusion soon about what is going on with Liv. On a better not, I absolutely LOVE her little pony! It is so cute :) and she looks like she is growing up so fast! Keep the pictures coming, theyr are so fun to look at!

  2. Yeah it will get better...it goes back and forth. You will get to experience it :). I'm also in love with her pony! She has this longer patch of hair right in the middle of her head and I just couldn't help myself ha.

  3. oh lady, i went through the EXACT same thing with poppy when she turned six months old! she went from sleeping decently (up 1-3 times per night to quietly dream feed, and being exclusively breast fed i expected her to be up sometimes) to suddenly waking every 1-2 hours crying and fussing! she was sooo restless, didn't want to sleep in her crib and wanted constant contact with me. over about 7-8 weeks she grew totally out of that phase, and is now sleeping like a champ, in fact most nights she's up once if at all! i hope that liv is just going through a little phase as well - it could be teething, getting used to solid foods, or just being overwhelmed by all the growth and development happening at this age, and needing her mama! (;

    i'm sure you're doing a fantastic job; try not to stress and just give her extra cuddles and pay attention to her signals. you'll both be back on track before you know it!

    that little one is just so lovely. best of luck dear! cheers!

  5. Thanks Emily! It is reassuring that Poppy went through the same thing. It makes me feel like its just a phase and there isn't anything "wrong" with her.
